A Folded Two-Sided Commercial Poster (made to be sold directly to the public; measures 15" x 22" [38 x 56 cm]) (Learn More) The Isle of Wight Festival 1970 was held at the English town of Afton Down, on the Isle of Wight from August 26th to the 30th. Although estimates vary, the Guinness World Records estimated 600,000, possibly 700,000 people attended. It was organized and promoted by local brothers, Ron and Ray Foulk through their company Fiery Creations Ltd and their brother Bill Foulk. Artists included Jimi Hendrix. Chicago, the Doors, the Moody Blues, the Who, Miles Davis, Joan Baez, Joni Mitchell, Jethro Tull, and many more. Political and logistical difficulties resulted in the organizers eventually realizing that the festival would not make a profit and the commercial failings of the festival ensured it was the last event of its kind on the Isle of Wight for 32 years. AND Sex Pistols, who were an English punk rock 'n' roll (rock and roll) band that formed in London in 1975 and broke up in 1978 (though they have occasional reunion tours to this day). They were early players in the punk movement in England and inspired many later musicians. While their initial career lasted only a few years, they are often regarded as one of the most influential bands in the history of modem music. The band was originally Johnny Rotten, Steve Jones, Paul Cook, and Glen Matlock. Matlock was replaced by Sid Vicious in 1977. The band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2006 but refused to attend the ceremony, calling the museum "a p**s stain". If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
