An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) Barbarella, the 1968 Roger Vadim French/Italian science fiction (sci-fi) fantasy adventure sexploitation comedy thriller ("Who can save the universe?"; "Queen of the Galaxy"; "The space age adventuress whose sex-ploits are among the most bizarre ever seen."; "Who gives up the pill? Who takes sex to outer space? Who's the girl of the 21st century? Who nearly dies of pleasure?"; "Who seduces an angel?"; "Who's the bird in the gilded cage?"; "Who conveys love by hand?"; "Who strips in space?"; "See Barbarella do her thing!"; "From the best seller 'Barbarella' by Jean Claude Forest published by 'Le Terrain Vague'"; "Screenplay by Terry Southern") starring Jane Fonda (in the title role as Barbarella), John Phillip Law, Marcel Marceau, David Hemmings (billed as "Special Guest Appearance David Hemmings as Dildano"), Ugo Tognazzi ("as Mark Hand"), Anita Pallenberg, and Milo O'Shea NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this poster is a bit of a mystery! It has much larger credits for John Phillip Law & Marcel Marceau than the "regular" one-sheet poster and lacks the red bar at lower center (and we have only auctioned this style one-sheet three times before, and it is much rarer that that "regular" one-sheet). We are not 100% sure why Law and Marceau's credits were enlarged for this printing of the poster. Also, this poster has a 1968 copyright date while some of the "regular" have 1967 and some have 1968. We are unsure if this poster was printed at the same time as the "regular" with 1968 or after. If anyone knows more about this poster, please e-mail us and we will post it here. What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: very good. The poster had fine surface paper loss on parts of some foldlines (typical of high-gloss posters of this period). Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was nicely backed, and displays well! Learn More about condition grades
