An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Glass Slide (measures 3 1/4" x 4" [8 x 10 cm]) (Learn More) Aggravating Papa (also released as "Aggravatin' Papa"), the 1924 Harold Beaudine silent canine dog German Shepherd comedy short ("Christie Comedies") starring Jimmie Adams, Duane Thompson, George C. Pearce, Budd Fine, and Peter the Great (the German Shepherd dog). Note that Peter the Great appeared in six movies between 1922 and 1926 (the first two were shorts). We don't know why he retired after that. It might have been from getting old, or he might not have been able to adjust to sound movies (perhaps his bark was not as good as his bite). If anyone knows more about Peter the Great, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Important Added Info: Note that glass slides were designed to be put in a special projector that would project the image onto a movie screen (they use exactly the same concept as 35mm slides). We have taken a digital photo of each that shows the general condition of the overall slide and holder, and we have also made a digital scan that shows the glass image well, but does not show the holder (except as a dark outline).
