Castle on the Hudson, the 1940 Anatole Litvak New York prison romantic crime thriller ("You'll see a new kind of love... When a guy who can't get away with murder meets a girls who does!"; "Every scene crackles with Garfield excitement!"; loosely based on the book by Lewis E. Lawes, who was the real-life warden of Sing Sing Prison; it had earlier been made in 1932 as "20,000 Years in Sing Sing", and that was the working title for this movie until it was changed at the last minute) starring John Garfield, Ann Sheridan, Pat O'Brien, Burgess Meredith, Henry O'Neill, Jerome Cowan, Guinn 'Big Boy' Williams, John Litel, and Barbara Pepper

Important Added Info: Note that we have never before auctioned this 1940 first release title card! Also note that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has.

Condition: good to very good. The card has darkened, typical of Warner Bros. linen lobby cards of this period. There is a 4" slightly diagonal vertical crease in the upper right that extends from the right of the top border down into O'Brien's cheek, and ending in the left of his collar. There is light water staining in the left of the top border and in the top of the left border. There are some light smudges in the lower right credits area and in the blank background to the right. There are a few light creases and smudges around the edges. Note that this card is completely unrestored and there is not a single piece of tape on either the front or back!
