An Original Vintage Campaign Book (measures 10 1/4" x 13 1/4" [26 x 34 cm]; 54 pages) (Learn More) Step Out With Universal, the 1932-33 Universal campaign book ("The box office book 1932-33") featuring upcoming Universal movies and stars from movies that were planned for production or release by Universal in the coming year including: The Invisible Man, S.S. San Pedro, Laughter in Hell, Once in a Lifetime, and many more. This campaign book contains colorful artwork (mostly 1 and 2-page spreads) as well as information on writers, directors, and Universal staff. This book has some of the finest full-color artwork of any campaign book, and we wish we could reproduce all of the ads, because they are just so incredible! Also note that, as was often the case with these campaign books, some of the movies advertised were either never made, had their titles changed before they were released, or were made with different casts than those announced in the campaign book! Note that in the case of this particular campaign book, there is a really cool ad for "Cagliostro", which turned into "The Mummy", and it also has ads for two other Universal horror movies "The Old Dark House" and "The Invisible Man" (and on The Invisible Man it says that he will be played by "that master of the impossible - BORIS KARLOFF", when of course, Claude Rains actually played the role!). NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Condition: good. A page was neatly cut out from the book. It affects half of the Counselor at Law two-page ad and an unknown one-page ad facing it. Otherwise, the book has scuffing on the covers, but all the other ads, including the two Universal horror ones, are in nice condition!
