His father was also a caricaturist, and Cruikshank is best known for his illustrations for Charles Dickens' books. He passed away in 1878 at the age of 85. Important Added Info: Note that this note paper has been personally autographed (signed) by George Cruikshank! It was glued to a larger sheet of paper on the back of each corner and the glue has come loose in the top let corner. Our consignor is a longtime collector who purchased this signed item from a reputable dealer. He does not have a certificate of authenticity, but we believe the signature to likely be authentic. As is true of all the signed items we are currently auctioning, we give every buyer 30 days in which to review what they purchased and they can return any item as long as it is within 30 days of the end of the auction.
