Note that this movie featured sensational "special effects" for its day, and had several wonderful sequences that looked like they required the building of massive sets, yet in most cases, matte paintings created the illusion of those massive sets! Important Added Info: Note that first release lobby cards from this classic fantasy movie are incredibly rare (likely both because it was released just prior to World War II, and because there was a quick post-war re-release in 1947, which likely used up whatever remaining 1940 paper there was). 16 years ago and 12 years ago, we auctioned complete sets, but otherwise, we have only auctioned 4 individual cards over all of our years of auctioning! Now we have once again been consigned a complete set, which contains many wonderful scenes! Condition: very good. The title card has darkened slightly and has smudges and a few scuffs around the edges, and a pinhole in the top right corner. The scene cards have varying amounts of scuffs and smudges around the edges. The card with the flying carpet has a diagonal crease in the top right corner, and the card with Rex Ingram has faint stains in the center of the top blank border. The card with the close up of Sabu, Duprez, and Justin has a piece of tape on the back of the left border that covers two small tears. Other than the above, the cards are generally in pretty nice condition, and I would think almost all collectors would be very happy to have this set.
