An Original Vintage Die-Cut Music Store Movie Soundtrack Mobile (measures 15 1/2" x 28 1/4" (Learn More)

National Lampoon's Animal House (released in France as "American College"), the classic 1978 John Landis teen college university fraternity slapstick comedy ("These guys are flunking out of college and loving every minute of it. You will too."; "What turns a clean-cut college kid into a shambling, sex crazed, drooling, degenerate, drink sodden college kid?"; "A Riotous Comedy in a Class of its Own."; "It was the Deltas against the rules... The rules lost!"; "Dress optional: toga not required!"; "A comedy from Universal Pictures"; "Written by Harold Ramis, Douglas Kenney & Chris Miller") starring John Belushi (as 'Bluto' Blutarsky), Tim Matheson (as Eric 'Otter' Stratton), John Vernon (as Dean Wormer), Verna Bloom (as Marion Wormer), Tom Hulce (as Larry 'Pinto' Kroger), Peter Riegert (as Donald 'Boon' Schoenstein), Mary Louise Weller (as Mandy Pepperidge), Stephen Furst (as Kent 'Flounder' Dorfman), James Daughton (as Greg Marmalard), Bruce McGill (as Daniel Simpson 'D-Day' Day), Mark Metcalf (as Doug Neidermeyer), DeWayne Jessie (as Otis Day), Karen Allen (as Katy), James Widdoes (as Robert Hoover), Martha Smith (as Barbara 'Babs' Jansen), Donald Sutherland ("as Jennings"), Kevin Bacon (very young in his very first movie role as Chip!), Douglas Kenney (the co-screenwriter, as Stork), Stephen Bishop (as "charming guy with guitar"), and Sarah Holcomb (as the mayor's daughter)

Important Added Info: Note that we have never auctioned this soundtrack mobile before (see below for more on how elaborate it is). The reason we have never auctioned it is probably partly because few survive, but also because of a problem with the image shown in the lower piece of the mobile (with all the cast members "giving the finger"). In 2018, we auctioned a 36" x 36" music store poster that solely showed this same color image, and that poster auctioned for $2,388! We were told that the music store poster "had been rejected by the major record store chains because of the gesture made by the cast (a similar problem occurred when Mad Magazine had Alfred E. Neuman making the same gesture!). As a result, most of these posters were destroyed, and that would explain why it is incredibly rare!". It is likely that this mobile had the exact same problem, which would help account for its super rarity! Also note that this a very elaborate mobile display with two sections. The top section folds up to form a little "house", and the bottom section (which measures 7 1/2" x 9") has a completely different image (the same on both sides). The two sections of the mobile were designed to be hung from the ceiling by a string through a hole in the top center of the top piece, and the smaller piece attached to the bigger piece by a second string (we photographed the front and back of the two pieces, but we did not assemble the top piece, because it had never been used).

Condition: very good. There are some creases around the edges of the larger die-cut section, but otherwise, the mobile was never used and is in really nice condition (see our images).
