A Linenbacked Swiss Advertising Poster (measures 35 3/4" x 50 1/4" [91 x 128 cm]) (Learn More) Pepita, the 1951 Swiss advertising poster promoting a grapefruit-flavored soda (produced by the Eptinger mineral water company), and featuring Herbert Leupin art of a parrot with the soft drink! Artist: Herbert Leupin Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: fair to good. The poster had an extra vertical crease near to the regular center one. It had tiny paper loss at the crossfolds and some smudges, creases, small tears, and tiny paper loss on parts of some folds. It had some faint smudges in the light background areas and pinholes in the corners. Overall, the poster was in good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but you can see signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects. After the poster was backed, it was roughly handled, and there is now a 3" diagonal tear in the yellow beak area of the bird (see our image). Learn More about condition grades
