An Original Vintage Theatrical Unfolded Half-Sheet Movie Poster (1/2sh; measures 22" x 28" [56 x 71 cm]) (Learn More) Captain Carey, U.S.A. (released in other English-speaking countries as "After Midnight" and in some countries simply as "Captain"), the 1950 Mitchell Leisen World War II (WWII) Italy military betrayal melodrama ("LADD's in action... In the war-torn Mediterranean!"; "LADD...in Hand-to-Hand combat...in the war torn Mediterranean!"; based on the novel by Martha Albrand) starring Alan Ladd (in the title role "as Captain Carey, U.S.A."), Wanda Hendrix, Francis Lederer, Joseph Calleia, and Celia Lovsky. It is interesting to note that this movie included the classic song "Mona Lisa", which won the Academy Award for Best Song, and that may be the single most remembered fact about this movie! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this poster has never been machine folded! Some pre-1970 half-sheet posters were machine folded twice horizontally at the poster exchange, while some were not. It can be difficult to find an unfolded example of many pre-1970 half-sheet posters (note that most post-1970 half-sheets were NOT machine folded, so they are pretty much only found unfolded, and therefore this does not apply to those half-sheets).
