An Original Vintage English Menu (measures 10" x 12 1/2" [25 x 32 cm]; 10 pages) (Learn More)

British Cinema and Television Veterans (BCTV) was an English association consisting of people who have been active in the film industry for at least 30 years. Originally known as Cinema Veterans, it was founded in 1924 in an effort to ensure that members of the film industry never die under the same impoverished circumstances as William Friese-Green, an English film-maker and innovator. The first reunion dinner took place in London, England on December 24th, 1924 and included 101 veterans.
Important Added Info: Note that we have never before auctioned this English souvenir menu! It is from 1924, and at the time, the association was called "Cinema Veterans". It is a program to commemorate those who worked in the English cinema between 1903 and 1924, and the pages contain photos of nearly one hundred such people, with their names and likenesses. We pictured all of them in case anyone reading this had a relative that might be pictured, because this would be a wonderful keepsake. Note that, in addition to being a program, it had the menu for the luncheon that was held (which consisted of ten courses!), and there is also room for autographs on three of the pages, and even a "Flash-Backs" cartoon page on the inside back cover.

Condition: fair to good.
