Important Added Info: Note that this painting is somewhat of a mystery. It was surely created in 1924, and there is an artist signature in the bottom right corner that looks like "Lee Ober" or possibly "Leo Ober" but it could be something similar. We were unable to determine who this artist is. It could have been created for a specific theater that was showing this movie, but those usually have text to promote the showing and/or theater. We believe it is more likely that it was created for a magazine cover, but we cannot be certain. Hopefully someone reading this can find out more, but regardless it is a wonderful painting that will display really well on the new owner's wall! If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Note that this item needs to be shipped in a box, which might be a fairly small box, or might be a very large box. What is important for the bidders to know is that this item very likely CAN'T be combined with other purchases, because there would not be much savings if any, because this item will be in a box with substantial depth (because the item is "three-dimensional"), while other purchases will be in a flat package, and trying to combine them would likely damage this item. If you purchase multiple items like this (ones that need to be packed in a box), then they likely can be combined with each other (unless the resulting box is simply too large). So please bear in mind that this item likely must be sent separately in a box (the size and depth of the box will depend on the size of the item), and bear this added expense in mind before placing a bid on it (so if you would pay $150 for the item, but the shipping is likely $100, then only bid $50 for the item). Condition: very good. The painting is on illustration board from 1924. Someone cut a mat for this painting that measures 25 1/2" x 30" and they took four pieces of foamcore and attached them to the back of each side of the mat, so this painting is matted and could be framed as is, however, the actual painting measures 21 3/4" x 27 3/4", but only 19" x 23 1/4" of the painting is showing, so the mat is covering approximately 1" of each border of the painting. One might choose to "disassemble" the mat so that one could see the extra 1" on each side, but we will leave that choice to the person that wins this painting. Learn More about condition grades
