eMoviePoster.comAuction History Result 7p067 MOVIE CLASSIC magazine February 1935, great art portrait of Ann Sothern by Marland Stone! Date Sold 10/4/2009Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Magazine (measures approximately 8 1/2" x 11 1/4") (Learn More) Movie Classic ("The Tabloid Magazine of the Screen"; "Latest Hollywood Happenings"), one of the many movie magazines sold to the public. Each issue features a great full color cover of a leading star of the day, plus lots of interior publicity stories about current stars and movies with many sepia and black and white images throughout. Also, in every issue are many wonderful vintage ads, some in sepia and some in black and white, and sometimes the ads can be just as much fun as the original stories and pictures. Of course, some of the ads are from movies that were about to open, and in the early days of eBay, people would remove those full-page ads and auction them by themselves, and they would often sell for $10, $20, or more, just for a single movie ad removed from a magazine just like this! Important Added Info: Note that Movie Classics (which had apparently been struggling for several months and had lowered its price in July 1934) in November of 1934 merged with "Screen Star Stories" and began billing itself as "Movie Classic Combined with Screen Star Stories" (and "Screen Star Stories" had had a cover price of 25 cents!). Starting in March of 1935, they dropped the "combined with Screen Star Stories" from their title and masthead. Note that we have provided a picture of the front cover of the magazine in the top left of our image, a picture of the table of contents page in the top right of our image, and a picture of one interior two-page spread in the bottom of our image (chosen pretty much at random!). These images should greatly help you judge the overall condition of the magazine, and the contents page lets you know exactly what articles and stories are contained in this particular issue. Please know that these magazines are sealed in bags and are ready for shipping, and we cannot answer any questions about them or look through them for you, so please bid (or do not bid) based on the images we have provided. Condition: good to very good. There is darkening down the right edge of the front cover and surface paper loss in the top of the front cover, and tiny paper loss in the top right corner of all pages, but otherwise, the magazine is in pretty nice condition! Please note that we have attempted to check to see if the magazine is complete and uncut, and we believe that it is. However, there is a slight possibility that we might have missed a small cut or a page that was neatly removed, and if that happens, you can return the magazine. We have solely provided an overall description of the condition of the magazine, but you can also refer to our super-sized images. Please bid (or not bid) based on that overall grade and by viewing the super-sized images. Learn More about condition grades
