An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Style A One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) Joan of Arc, the 1948 Victor Fleming biographical historic medieval France religious war melodrama ("Greatest of all spectacles!"; "Mighty with battle... Magnificent with Drama!"; "Based on the stage play 'Joan of Lorraine' by Maxwell Anderson"; "Color by Technicolor") starring Ingrid Bergman (nominated for the Best Actress Academy Award for this film; in the title role as Joan of Arc) and "A Cast of Thousands with" Jose Ferrer (nominated for the Best Supporting Actor Academy Award for this film), Francis L. Sullivan, J. Carrol Naish, Ward Bond, Shepperd Strudwick, Hurd Hatfield, Gene Lockhart, John Emery, George Coulouris, John Ireland, and Cecil Kellaway NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that RKO had great expectations for this movie (they called it the "greatest of all spectacles"), and they did something very unusual with the movie posters for its release. They created three different teaser one-sheets (marked style A, style B, and style C), and they also made a "regular" one-sheet. We imagine they asked theaters to run a different teaser each week in the three weeks before the movie opened, and then the regular poster once it opened. This is something that was done decades later, but it was very unusual for 1948! This auction is for the "regular" one-sheet. Condition: very good. The poster has a tiny bit of paper loss 1/2" to the right of the top crossfold and slightly larger paper loss 1/2" to the right of the bottom crossfold, with some tiny paper loss below it (it is above and below the bottom of the letter "C", but it barely affects the letter). There are tiny pinholes around the edges and a small tear in the center of the top border, caused by rough removal of a pin. Otherwise, the poster is in nice condition (see our image).
