An Original Vintage Movie Script (measures 8 1/2" x 11" [22 x 28 cm], 166 pages) (Learn More) Big Deal, the 1986 Bob Fosse Broadway stage play production (of Bob Fosse's play) starring Cleavant Derricks, Loretta Devine, Alan Weeks, Larry Marshall, and Alde Lewis, Jr. Note that this play was inspired by the classic 1958 Mario Monicelli Italian movie "Big Deal on Madonna Street", and it ran for three months on Broadway in 1986. Mr. Fosse wrote a screenplay for a proposed movie version of this play, but it never came to be! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this script is the first draft and the screenplay was written by Bob Fosse (based on his own play; see above). The script has many photocopied edits and corrections throughout, but those are photocopied, so this is not a "first generation" script, and it is unclear when it was created, but we would think it surely dates to the late 1980s. Note that this script was consigned to us directly from director/screenwriter Charles Shyer. Mr. Shyer is the director of many extremely popular movies from the 1970s to the present, many of which are romantic comedies, including House Calls, Private Benjamin, Baby Boom, remakes of Father of the Bride and The Parent Trap, and many others. Over the years, he collected scripts, which he received primarily in two different ways. He was friends with screenwriters, directors, and producers during those years, and they would sometimes send him scripts of their movies to get his opinion of them, and many of those are offered here. In addition, as a member of the screenwriter's branch of the Academy, he was sent many scripts where the producers hoped that their script would be nominated for a Best Screenwriting Academy Award, and many of these have "for your consideration" printed on the cover. This is a rare opportunity to purchase original scripts that come directly from the personal collection of a prominent director/screenwriter! Condition: very good to fine. Note that we have photographed the cover of the script, the title page, the final page of the script (the one that reads "THE END"), and one or more interior pages.
