An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 27" x 41") (Learn More) Miami, the 1924 Alan Crosland Florida silent romantic love triangle melodrama ("Story by John Lynch"; about the "leader of the jazz set" in Miami, who is torn between a rich older man and a young virtuous one) starring Betty Compson, Lawford Davidson, Hedda Hopper, J. Barney Sherry, Lucy Fox, and Benjamin F. Finney Jr. Note that this is a "lost" film, which means that no surviving copies are thought to exist. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Condition: very good. This poster was linenbacked and during the backing process, its defects were repaired and it now looks nice. From any reasonable viewing distance, you can't see what restoration was done. It may have had only very minor defects, or it may have had more significant defects that were well restored. It is possible that you can see SOME slight traces of the restoration from a distance, but if so, we try clearly note it below. You can tell which of the above is the case for this particular poster by reading our "pre-restoration" description and also by looking at our "super-sized" image of the actual poster (we are the only major auction company we know of that gives accurate detailed pre-restoration information about linenbacked posters to our bidders, but we wish everyone did!). The poster had tears and some small areas of paper loss along most foldlines, more so at the crossfolds. While there was some paper loss in the foldlines that run through Compson's face, the paper loss in those areas is tiny. The borders of the poster were tattered, with many tears, stains, and smudges, some of which extended into the edges of the image. The poster was REALLY expertly restored (by a top professional), and you really don't notice the restoration the poster has had, and yet the poster definitely does not have a "painted over" look at all. You can clearly see the restoration when you tilt the poster to the light, but looking at it straight on, it looks great! Learn More about condition grades
