An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Autographed One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) When Worlds Collide, the classic 1951 Rudolph Mate science fiction (sci-fi) doomsday fantasy thriller ("Spectacle never before filmed!"; "Most amazing story that science or fiction ever imagined!"; "Planets Destroy Earth!"; "Giant planet collides with earth!"; "Enormous earthquakes swallow whole continents!"; "Tidal waves flood entire countries!"; "Space ship leaves earth!"; "Based on the famous novel by Edwin Balmer and Philip Wylie"; produced by George Pal, who did the excellent special effects; a highly literate screenplay by Sydney Boehm; this is the sort of movie that proved that science fiction movies did not have to be silly to be critically acclaimed or popular with the public; it is a pity more movies did not follow this wonderful movie's formula!) starring Barbara Rush, Richard Derr, Peter Hanson, John Hoyt, Larry Keating, Frank Cady, and Stephen Chase NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this poster has been personally autographed (signed) by George Pal (our consignor does not have a certificate of authenticity, but both he and we feel certain that the autograph is authentic)! Also note that this poster has been graded and authenticated by mpgrading.com. This means that a separate 8 1/2" x 11" paper comes with the poster, and that it has been "encrypted with a unique 9-digit serial number with invisible DNA-laced ink" which has been hidden somewhere in an unobtrusive portion of the poster. On the certificate, the poster has been given a grade of "very fine (8.5) - RG", but of course, that grading scale is not the same as ours (see below). What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: very good. The poster had tiny paper loss at the crossfolds, with some minor wear on the folds. It had pinholes, a few tears, and some tiny bits of paper loss in the blank borders. Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking.
