An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (27" x 41") (Learn More) Sunset in El Dorado, the 1945 Frank McDonald singing cowboy western ("Original Story by Leon Abrams") starring Roy Rogers ("King of the Cowboys"), Trigger ("The Smartest Horse in the Movies"), George 'Gabby' Hayes, Dale Evans, Hardie Albright, Margaret Dumont, Roy Barcroft, and Bob Nolan and The Sons of The Pioneers. Note that it might seem odd that Dale Evans was fourth billed (below Trigger and Gabby Hayes!), but at this time, she and Roy were married to other people, and they were only a couple on screen. The following year, Roy's wife sadly died, and when Dale divorced soon after, their on screen romance continued off screen as well! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. This poster was linenbacked, and one of the following is true: either the poster had very minor defects, and was well backed, OR it had more significant defects, but they were extremely well restored, OR it had some minor defects that were not completely restored, and are somewhat noticeable. You can tell which of the above is the case for this particular poster by reading our "pre-restoration" description and also by looking at our "super-sized" image of the actual poster (we are the only major auction company we know of that gives accurate detailed pre-restoration information about linenbacked posters to our bidders, but we wish everyone did!). The poster had many creases and small tears along most foldlines. There were creases, tears, and small paper loss around the edges of the poster. Overall, the poster was in good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was fairly well backed, but you can see some signs of the restoration on the foldlines. Note that the restorer who mounted the poster did not leave any excess linen around the edges of the poster. Learn More about condition grades
