Original Vintage Theatrical Deluxe 11" x 14" Movie Still (Learn More) Ted Healy was a popular actor in the 1920s and 1930s, though he is best remembered as the guy who started The Three Stooges (originally called Ted Healy & His Stooges). He made a massive miscalculation when The Stooges asked for more money, and he thought he could simply hire replacement "stooges", and he did so, but they had little success, while the original Three Stooges went on to great fame. His most successful roles were in Bombshell, San Francisco, and Mad Love. Healy passed away in 1937 at the age of 41. He was heavily intoxicated after celebrating the birth of his son, when he fought more than one person, and was later found bleeding on a sidewalk. Healy never regained consciousness, and later died of kidney failure. Important Added Info: Note that there is printing on the back of the portrait. The portrait is by Mitchell Studios. Also note that there is a stamp that identifies this still as being "Ted Healy in the Green-Gensler musical 'The Gang's All Here'", which may have been a stage show or a movie.
