Artist: Bob Peak Important Added Info: Note that we have never before auctioned this 47x62 special poster! It was created in advance of the San Francisco premiere of this movie. It is extremely similar to the subway posters created in advance of the New York premieres of movies, except that it measures slightly differently (47" x 62" vs 45" x 60"). We have not previously auctioned not only this poster, but also any similar poster from any movie! If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here. What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster had some creases in the top of the dark background area of the image, with a 2" vertical tear just touching the top of the red. There were also some light creases scattered in the left of the image. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The restorer backed the poster "in the European style", meaning that they did not do restoration to the defects described above. We would think another restorer could touch up the above defects without re-backing the poster, but we are not sure of that, and of course, one could just live with those defects on this very rare poster.
