A 8" x 10" [20 x 25 cm] Radio Publicity Still (Learn More)

Ruth Etting was a stage and screen singer and actress from the 1920s to the 1930s. Her life was told (in a fictionalized version) in the movie, "Love Me or Leave Me" (which was the name of her most famous song), starring Doris Day. According to legend, she was an art student in Chicago and was given a small role in a musical stage show, and one of the leads became ill, and Miss Etting took her place and became an instant star! She later starred in Flo Ziegfeld's "Whoopee" on stage before it became a movie. Some of her movies include: The Book of Lovers, A Torch Tango, and Sleepy Time. She passed away in 1978 at the age of 80.

Condition: good. There is discoloration and creasing in the bottom half of the still, caused by the snipe glued to the back (see our images).
