An Original Vintage Theatrical Paperbacked Window Card Movie Poster (WC; measures 14" x 22") (Learn More) We're In the Money, the 1935 Ray Enright lawyer dizzy blondes screwball comedy ("They love 'em... and leave 'em with a summons!"; about two sexy blondes who are kind of a female Laurel & Hardy, and they are process servers for a lawyer, and they have wacky adventures with a cast of odd characters) starring Joan Blondell, Glenda Farrell, Hugh Herbert, Ross Alexander, Hobart Cavanaugh, Phil Regan, Lionel Stander, and Edward Gargan. Note that Joan Blondell and Glenda Farrell appeared together in "Havana Widows" in 1933, where they played a pair of good-hearted showgirls who get in trouble. They re-teamed for five more movies in 1934 and 1935 (playing different characters, but in the same sorts of situations), all of which were quite popular at the box office! This means the poster was backed onto a paper backing (acid-free), that is similar in feel to that of the original poster (except somewhat heavier). It is a similar process to linenbacking, except that most collectors use linenbacking for one-sheets and paperbacking for half-sheets, inserts, window cards, and lobby cards. Condition: good. The poster had creases, smudges, stains, tears, pinholes, and areas of paper loss around the edges, extending into the edges of the image. There was surface paper loss in Farrell's arm and in the background above and below it, and some in the hat containing money and in small parts of the credits. Overall, the poster was in good condition prior to paperbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, because you can mostly only see slight signs of the restoration of the above defects within the image, but the restorer did only marginal restoration on the border defects, likely assuming they will not show when the poster is framed.
