Cronin's The Keys of the Kingdom, the 1944 John M. Stahl China romantic religious Catholic priest melodrama ("Screen play by Joseph L. Mankiewicz and Nunnally Johnson"; "By A.J. Cronin, Author of 'The Citadel'") starring Gregory Peck (nominated for the Best Actor Academy Award for this film), Thomas Mitchell, Vincent Price, Rosa Stradner, Roddy McDowall, Edmund Gwenn, Sir Cedric Hardwicke, Peggy Ann Garner, Jane Ball, James Gleason, Anne Revere, Benson Fong, Philip Ahn, and Richard Loo. Note that A.J. Cronin was a doctor who had health problems in 1930. He wrote a book called "Hatter's Castle" in 1931, and it was so successful that he stopped practicing medicine and wrote a series of books, all centering around doctors, including "The Citadel" and "Keys of the Kingdom", all of which were made into movies! THOUGH ONLY EIGHT OF THE STILLS ARE PICTURED, THE HIGH BIDDER ON THIS LOT WILL RECEIVE 9 STILLS FROM THIS MOVIE (but realize that on some of these lots with 9 or more stills there may be a few duplicates, mostly on post-1960 lots)! We realize there is an element of gambling to this, but we made only a small effort to find the best stills in these lots, and, if you have any willingness to gamble at all, you may find that you get some great stills that were not pictured! Please do NOT bid on this lot unless you can accept that you are only seeing eight of the stills. Condition: good to very good. A few have a piece of tape on the back of each edge (not put there for any restoration purpose) that has caused slight discoloration to the front, and a few have some minor scuffs but overall they are in pretty nice condition.
