An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Six-Sheet Movie Poster (6sh; measures 81" x 81" [206 x 206 cm]) (Learn More) A Girl at Bay, the 1919 Tom Mills silent romantic murder mystery crime family relationship melodrama ("An intense drama of a man's love and a woman's risk"; "The woman - Menaced at every turn - A fugitive - Even from her own thoughts"; a pretty wacky story of a girl who finds herself standing by a dead judge's body with a bloody knife nearby, and she can't remember anything, and she meets the judge's brother, and even though he suspects she killed the judge, they fall in love and marry, but after many adventures, including one with a tiger, they discover the true killer!) starring Corinne Griffith, Walter Miller, Harry Davenport, Denton Vane, and Walter Horton NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this poster has been kraftbacked, which means it was backed onto a brown paper soon after it was printed (this process is called "kraft-backing", and posters with it are called "kraft-backed"). One could have it professionally removed from the kraft paper and linenbacked, and it would look great! Note that the poster was once tri-folded, but it was stored only partially folded for many years, and I think it would be a mistake to completely re-fold it, so it will need to be sent in a larger-than-normal flat package. Condition: fair to good. There is small paper loss in the left corners and some nail holes scattered in the image. There is a long horizontal tear running below the words "AND A WOMAN'S RISK" in the bottom of the poster, all the way to the right border. There was an 8" tear in the poster starting in the left border just above the left of the title (and someone glued a piece of a magazine page to the back of that area to mend the tear, and oddly, the magazine page was a really cool ad for Blind Husbands with an image of von Stroheim! There is smudging and faint staining scattered throughout the poster. The poster is mostly "all there", and after linenbacking by a talented professional, the poster will look great. Please do not bid on this poster unless you can accept its very significant defects and are willing to pay to have them properly restored! Learn More about condition grades
