An Original Vintage Theatrical Paperbacked Window Card Movie Poster (WC; measures 14" x 22" [36 x 56 cm]) (Learn More) Alfred Hitchcock's To Catch a Thief, the 1955 Alfred Hitchcock romantic crime mystery thriller ("It's a web of romance and suspense that spins you from delight to danger - then spirals to an explosive climax on the fabulous Riviera!"; "Based on the novel by David Dodge"; "Screenplay by John Michael Hayes"; about a retired jewel thief living on the Riviera, and there is a string of daring jewel robberies, so naturally, he is the lead suspect, and he decides to find the true thief himself, and he is aided by a beautiful rich young woman and her mother!) starring Cary Grant, Grace Kelly, Jessie Royce Landis, John Williams, Charles Vanel, Brigitte Auber, Rene Blancard, Georgette Anys, and Jean Martinelli. Note that Cary Grant had announced his retirement from movies in 1953, but he was lured out of retirement by Hitchcock to make this one. Also note that Jessie Royce Landis, who had played Grant's mother in "North by Northwest", this time played his potential mother-in-law, and yet, she was only eight years older than Grant, who had aged very well! The card was folded down the middle and there were many creases and tears in the bottom half of that fold, with a lesser amount in the top half of that fold. The creases coming off from the center fold in the bottom 5" of the card are long diagonal creases that extend all the way to the left and right edges of the card. There were some smudges and scuffs scattered throughout the image and pinholes, creases, and tears around the edges of the card. Some restorer paperbacked the card, and they did some touch up to the above defects, and did much paint restoration to the blank borders, but you can still see the many creases in the bottom center of the card.
