An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Title Lobby Card (LC TC; measures 9 3/4" x 12 3/4" [25 x 32 cm]) (Learn More)

Lights of New York, the 1928 Bryan Foy New York City romantic love triangle mistaken identity crime thriller ("The First 'All Talking' Picture"; even though "The Jazz Singer" is often referred to as the first talking picture, it actually was not!; it had only partial sound sections, including, of course, singing by Jolson, but it also had inter-titles; this movie is actually the first feature movie with all synchronous dialogue, and is truly "the first all talking picture", as it was billed at the time of its release!) starring Helene Costello, Cullen Landis, Mary Carr, Wheeler Oakman, Gladys Brockwell, and Eugene Pallette. Note that Mary Carr became a major star in the mid 1910s around the age of 40, playing the parts of saintly mothers. She continued to make movies (switching to grandmother roles) through the mid 1930s, and then continued with mostly uncredited parts until the mid 1950s. She passed away in 1973 at the age of 99!

Important Added Info: Note that we have only previously auctioned two examples of this title card, and the last one was 14 years ago, when it sold for $549 in only "good" condition!

Note that this lobby card has been trimmed and it now measures 9 3/4" x 12 3/4" [25 x 32 cm]. Also note that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has.

Condition: good. All the borders were trimmed off, but fortunately, the bottom border was completely blank, so all that is missing is tiny bits of the bottom of the image at lower left and lower right. Obviously, this rare and desirable card can be restored, but please look at our super-sized images to get a good sense of the exact condition of this card before placing a bid. Note that this lobby card is completely unrestored and there is not a single piece of tape on either the front or back!
