An Original Vintage Theatrical Autographed Movie Lobby Card #5 (LC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) Lady in the Lake, the 1947 Robert Montgomery detective mystery crime film noir ("MGM presents a Revolutionary motion picture The most amazing since Talkies began!"; "You and Robert Montgomery solve a murder mystery together!"; "MGM presents You and Robert Montgomery in Lady in the Lake"; "Based on the novel by Raymond Chandler"; this was a "gimmick" movie; the lead actor is not shown, and the entire movie is seen from his point of view!; the only time you see him is in mirrors; this was a pretty lame idea, and it is not surprising it was only done once!; oddly, MGM shows Montgomery in the lobby cards; perhaps they were already afraid of the wacky premise prior to its release!) starring Robert Montgomery (as Phillip Marlowe), Audrey Totter, Lloyd Nolan, Tom Tully, Leon Ames, and Jayne Meadows NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this lobby card has been personally autographed (signed) by Audrey Totter! Note that the lobby card is from Robert Montgomery's view, which is how the entire movie was filmed (see above), which is why Montgomery is not in the card! Our consignor is a longtime collector who purchased this signed item from a reputable dealer. He does not have a certificate of authenticity, but we believe the signature to likely be authentic. Also note that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has. As is true of all the signed items we are currently auctioning, we give every buyer 30 days in which to review what they purchased and they can return any item as long as it is within 30 days of the end of the auction.
