An Original Vintage Unfolded World War I Poster (measures 19 1/2" x 29 1/2" [50 x 75 cm]) (Learn More) V, the 1917 U.S. World War I (WWI) War Bonds poster ("INVEST"). Note that this poster was intended for use in the Liberty Loan campaign (some had INVEST below the V). It was sold for $2, which was the first payment on a "$50 victory note", which cost $2 down and $1 a week. You could also purchase $100 victory notes and $500 victory notes at any bank. You were then encouraged to display this poster in your window, showing that you had supported the government and were "a regular American" If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Condition: good to very good. The poster has several tears around the edges (especially at upper center where they are repaired with tape from the back). There is slight discoloration in the center right edge due to exposure to moisture and someone attempted some amateur restoration to the tear in that area. It is otherwise in generally nice condition and after a simple linenbacking the poster will look great! Learn More about condition grades
