A Folded French Advertising Poster (measures 31 1/2" x 47 1/4" [80 x 120 cm]) (Learn More)

Cycles Barre, the 1910s French advertising poster (with a tagline that translates to "You'll never catch me! I raise the... Barre") encouraging people to purchase Barre bicycles, and featuring art of police officers on inferior bikes in pursuit of a thief (wearing slippers and shouting a pun) escaping on a Barre bicycle.

Important Added Info: Note that we have never auctioned an example of this poster before! Also note that this poster was folded at one time but has been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube.

Condition: good. The poster has dot stains and deterioration and paper loss along the vertical foldlines (see our image). It slightly fragile. No restoration has been performed. It is "mostly all there" and after proper restoration the very rare poster will display well, but bear in mind the poster's condition and the cost of restoration before bidding on it.
