An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Argentinean Movie Poster (measures 29 1/4" x 43 1/4" [74 x 110 cm]) (Learn More)

The Monster Walks, the 1932 Frank R. Strayer haunted house monster horror thriller ("Appalling in its horror - gruesome in its details - terrifying in its action - see 'The Monster Walks' - another 'Frankenstein'"; "You need plenty of nerve when you see this picture"; "Don't see this picture - unless you have steady nerves - unless your heart is strong."; about a man and woman who go to the woman's family mansion, and discover that her scientist father died suddenly and that her crazy uncle and his even crazier son intend to kill her as well, no doubt so they could inherit the family mansion and wealth; at the climax of the movie, the crazy cousin has the girl tied up and he instructs his giant ape to kill her, but the ape turns on the uncle and cousin, and kills them instead!) starring Mischa Auer, Rex Lease, Vera Reynolds, Sheldon Lewis, and Willie Best. Note that we have seen a 1932 one-sheet for this movie that a collector who owns it was kind enough to share with us (see our AH image of it here: http://www.emovieposter.com/agallery/archiveitem/8939889.html). So the 1932 posters ARE very similar to the 1938 Astor re-release posters, which we have sold.
NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography.
If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
Important Added Info: Note that we can't say for certain that this is from the 1932 release, and not from the 1940s re-release. But the poster is definitely quite old, and it has Radium Films on it, which we have only seen on 1930s posters, and it does NOT have Astor Pictures, which is on the U.S. 1940s re-release. Given all that, and given that it has a full-color stone litho image, we are listing it as 1932. If anyone knows more about this poster, please e-mail us and we will post it here.

Condition: good. There is separation and tiny paper loss at the bottom two crossfolds, with some tiny tears scattered on the vertical foldline and some tears and tiny paper loss around the edges (see our image).
