An Original Vintage Theatrical Deluxe Color 8" x 10" [20 x 25 cm] Movie Still (Learn More) Alan Ladd was a major leading actor from the 1930s to the 1960s. Surprisingly, he appeared in a number of movies before he became a major star with his portrayal as a hired killer in "This Gun For Hire" in 1941. Some of his movies include: Shane, The Carpetbaggers, The Glass Key, The Blue Dahlia, and Two Years Before the Mast. He married much older Sue Carol, who had been a major actress in the 1920s and early 1930s, and who had become an agent. They remained married until he passed away in 1964 at the age of 50 from a drug and alcohol overdose. Important Added Info: Note that this is a deluxe still printed on double weight paper stock. Condition: good to very good. There are three 1/2" scuff marks in the upper part of the image, but they appear to be within the printing (we are grading it "good to very good" simply on the fact that it detracts from the still's appearance, but the still itself is in pretty nice condition!).
