A 1951 Realart Re-Release Theatrical Movie Title Lobby Card (LC TC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) Frankenstein, the classic 1931 James Whale Universal monster horror thriller ("The monster that terrorized the world!"; "The Man Who Made a Monster"; "Warning! The monster is loose!"; "Based upon the Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley Story"; "Adapted by John L. Balderston from the play by Peggy Webling"; the first of the Universal "Frankenstein" movies, and regarded as one of the finer movies of any genre, in large part due to the marvelous acting of Boris Karloff, and the marvelous direction of James Whale!) starring Colin Clive (as Dr. Herbert V. Frankenstein), Boris Karloff (as the Frankenstein monster), Edward Van Sloan, Fredric Kerr, Mae Clarke, Dwight Frye (extremely memorable as Fritz), and John Boles NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Who among us can afford the zillion dollar 1931 original title card from this horror classic? To me, this 1951 re-release, with an excellent different image with more color than the original, makes a very attractive alternative (especially considering that it is in relatively nice condition)! Condition: good to very good. The card had paper loss small paper loss in each blank corner and some pinholes, tears, and tiny bits of paper loss in the rest of the borders. It had three pinholes near the center, in the "GHT" of "NIGHTMARE". It had small paper loss in the top center, affecting the bottom of the "E" of "MONSTER" and the top of the "C" of "Could". A talented restorer gel backed the card (meaning they backed the card onto a gel material) and they then performed excellent restoration to the above defects, and then removed the gel backing, so that the card still exactly looks and feels like an original card (and it is!), with no backing at all. You can see slight signs of the restoration, but the card displays really well! Learn More about condition grades
