A Linenbacked Special Poster (measures 15 1/2" x 24" [39 x 61 cm]) (Learn More) Eastman Business College (also known as Eastman College) was a business school located in Poughkeepsie, New York. It was founded by Harvey G. Eastman in 1859 and closed in 1931. Rather than merely being a theoretical school, students gained practical experience in the business arts by actually performing the tasks that would be expected of them in their working careers, a novel approach at the time. At the height of its success, the school was one of the largest commercial colleges in the United States. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that we have never before auctioned this special poster! It gives great information about some of the most important steam inventions, including the "first railroad passenger train and first steam locomotive", "first steam locomotive in the world", "first steam railroad passenger train in America", "Robert Fulton's steamboat Clermont", and "the first steamboat in the world". The small print at the bottom of the poster says that all of these great steam inventions have created the need for a business college that focused on the changing world. At the very bottom of the poster, it has "PLEASE FRAME FOR PRESERVATION". What IS linenbacking?
