Note that in 1941, the producers had the fun idea of giving sidekick Smiley Burnette (who played "Frog") a youthful sidekick of his own, and they hired young Joe Strauch Jr., who played that part in six of these movies, and naturally, his character was nicknamed "Tadpole"!
