Date Sold 10/19/2017 Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. 3 Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Cards (LCs; measure 10 1/2" x 13" [27 x 33 cm]) (Learn More) Beyond the Blue Horizon, the 1942 Alfred Santell tropical island romantic jungle adventure melodrama (sort of "Tarzan" in reverse, where a girl is shipwrecked on a tropical island, and her parents are killed, so she grows up alone in an island jungle, and she is rescued, and no one believes her, so she leads an expedition back to the island to prove her story) starring Dorothy Lamour, Richard Denning, Jack Haley, Patricia Morison, Walter Abel, Helen Gilbert, Elizabeth Patterson, and Gogo (the chimpanzee!). Note that Dorothy Lamour wore her trademark sarong in this movie! Also note that there is a scene in the movie where Richard Denning lures a rampaging elephant to the edge of a cliff, and then he swings on a vine, and the elephant follows him, and plunges to its death. Apparently, a lot of children were taken to this movie and were traumatized by that scene! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that these lobby cards have been trimmed and they now measure 10 1/2" x 13" [27 x 33 cm]. Condition: fair to good. The cards have been trimmed around the edges (see our measurements and image). For some odd reason the card at upper left has had approximately 8" x 10" of another lobby card cut out and pasted over the trimmed card at center, and it is the same image that is originally on the lobby card. Please see our super-sized image to get a good sense of the condition of this item prior to placing a bid and please do not bid unless you can accept the defects described above, or you are willing to pay to have them properly restored.
