A Complete set of 8 Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Cards (LCs; measure 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) Desert Valley, the 1926 Scott R. Dunlap silent cowboy western ("A thriller of the sage-brush land"; "Based on the novel by Jackson Gregory") starring Buck Jones, Virginia Brown Faire, Malcolm Waite, Jack W. Johnston, and Charles Brinley. Note that Buck Jones' white horse was named Silver (just like The Lone Ranger's later on!), and Silver made 73 movies with Buck Jones from 1922 until Jones' death in 1942 in the tragic Cocaonut Grove fire. But oddly, Silver was almost never billed on the posters for Buck Jones' movies as so many other famous horses (most especially Tom Mix's Tony) were! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that in December 2017, we were consigned three complete sets from Buck Jones silent westerns from 1927 and 1928 (such complete sets are extremely rare, because they were almost always broken up by collectors and sold by the card). Each of those three sets sold for $240 (actually, one sold for $243!). Now, the same consignor has consigned a fourth set, which is from 1926, and we are auctioning it here. Condition: very good. Each of the cards has tack holes in the corners, some with some tiny paper loss or stains by the tack holes. The title card also has some creases and tiny stains around the edges, and some surface paper loss in the center, in the horse's ear and neck.
