Date Sold 6/13/2013Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. 10 Original Vintage Theatrical 8" x 10" [20 x 25 cm] Movie Stills (Learn More) Silver Queen, the 1942 Lloyd Bacon gambling poker casino silver mining action melodrama ("The Most Beautiful... Most Daring... Most Dangerous Woman on the Barbary Coast!") starring George Brent, Priscilla Lane, Bruce Cabot, Lynne Overman, Eugene Pallette, Guinn 'Big Boy' Williams, Roy Barcroft, Jason Robards Sr., and Marietta Canty, Note that this movie focuses on a male and female professional poker player in 1870. In the original publicity for the movie, Priscilla Lane is described as playing "a woman card player, whose reputation has spread far and wide". It seems this movie anticipated the current poker craze, even down to there being top women players who could hold their own with the best male players! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: SUPER IMPORTANT! THOUGH ONLY EIGHT OF THE STILLS ARE PICTURED, THE HIGH BIDDER ON THIS LOT WILL RECEIVE 10 STILLS FROM THIS MOVIE (but realize that on some of these lots with 9 or more stills there may be a few duplicates, mostly on post-1960 lots)! We realize there is an element of gambling to this, but we made only a small effort to find the best stills in these lots, and, if you have any willingness to gamble at all, you may find that you get some great stills that were not pictured! Please do NOT bid on this lot unless you can accept that you are only seeing eight of the stills. Also note that five of the stills are from the original 1942 release of this movie, and five stills are from 1940s re-releases of this movie. NOTE: On rare occasions, large lots of 9 or more black-and-white stills like this one can sometimes have one or more duplicated stills, but since we only picture 8 of the stills, if there are duplicates, they are likely not pictured. We try to note when this happens, but we may not catch it every time, so please do not bid on such lots unless you can accept this possibility. Condition: good. Many of the stills have minor creases, scuffs and smudges throughout, and several have pinholes and small tears around the edges (with one having a larger 1 1/2" tear in the lower left corner). One still has been neatly trimmed at the bottom and measures slightly less than 8" x 10". Learn More about condition grades
