An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) Demetrius and the Gladiators, the 1954 Delmer Daves sword-and-sandal religious Biblical adventure epic sequel ("The continuation of 'The Robe'"; "CinemaScope In The Wonder of High-Fidelity Directional-Stereophonic Sound"; "Based on a character created by Lloyd C. Douglas in 'The Robe'"; "Written by Philip Dunne") starring Victor Mature (in the title role as Demetrius), Susan Hayward, Michael Rennie, Debra Paget, Anne Bancroft, Jay Robinson (as Caligula), Barry Jones, William Marshall, Richard Egan, Ernest Borgnine, Charles Evans, and Mickey Simpson. Note that the year before this movie was released, Richard Burton starred in "The Robe", also based on Lloyd C. Douglas' book, and it proved very successful, and this movie was released the following year, with Victor Mature, Michael Rennie, and Jay Robinson reprising their roles from The Robe, but otherwise with different actors. The poster had tiny paper loss at the crossfolds and some creases, tiny tears, and tiny bits of paper loss on parts of some folds, with some paper loss scattered in the top quarter of the vertical fold. It had some pinholes around the edges. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was well backed, but at some point after it was backed, it was roughly handled at the top, which caused some light vertical creases in the top blank border of the poster.
