An Original Vintage German Film Program (measures 9" x 11 3/4" [23 x 30 cm]; 8 pages) (Learn More) Wife Savers, the 1928 Ralph Cedar silent romantic marriage screwball comedy ("Based on Florentz Zeigfeld's 'Louie XIV' by Arthur Wimperis, from the German of Paul Frank and Julius Wilhelm") starring Wallace Beery, Raymond Hatton, Zasu Pitts, Sally Blane, and Tom Kennedy. Note that in 1926, Wallace Beery and Raymond Hatton appeared in "Behind the Front", and the public loved the comic antics of this very large man with this very small man, and they went on to make a series of similar movies, including this one. They were so popular that there was also an imitation series of similar movies starring Karl Dane and George K. Arthur. Note that this is a "lost" film, which means that no surviving copies are thought to exist. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this item has been trimmed and it now measures 9" x 11 3/4" [23 x 30 cm]. Note that we have provided an image of four of the pages of this 8-page program (we did this by opening it and laying it flat and photographing the front and back cover together, and two of the interior pages together). You can see the four of the eight pages, and can well determine the exact condition of it from our super-sized image, but realize that there are four pages you are not seeing. But of course this means that the front cover appears in the top right of our image, but normally, the program would be folded down the center and you would view the cover by itself (and it will be sent folded as was originally intended). Condition: good. The program has two punch holes in the center of the left of the cover and in the corresponding area on the interior pages, because the program was stored in a 2-ring binder. The program was once in a bound volume and it was slightly trimmed on the top and bottom, and there is tiny paper loss in several places in the spine, where it was once attached to the bound volume.
