He was signed by Samuel Goldwyn in 1943 when he was 18, and he had two significant roles, but then joined the army. After getting out of the army, he made They Live By Night for Nicholas Ray, and he had great success with Rope and Strangers on a Train, both for Alfred Hitchcock. In 1954, he starred in Senso in Italy for Visconti. He moved to New York, where he spent the next 13 years on TV and on Broadway. He then returned to Italy and made a series of films there. He passed away in 2011 at the age of 85. Important Added Info: Note that these stills measure 7 1/2" x 9 1/2" [19 x 24 cm], but they have not been trimmed. Note that each still has a paper snipe on the back giving information about the scene on the front. Condition: good to very good. Each has uneven discoloration caused by snipe glue on the back at lower center but otherwise they are in pretty nice condition. Learn More about condition grades
