Date Sold 12/12/2019Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original 1949 (from the first release of this movie in Italy) Vintage Theatrical Folded Italian Locandina Movie Poster (measures 13" x 27 1/2" [33 x 70 cm]) (Learn More) All Through the Night, the 1942 Vincent Sherman World War II (WWII) Nazi spy espionage gambling gangster crime film noir ("The underworld's top trigger-guy blasts away at the toughest mob he's ever faced!"; "It's a shooting battle-royal!"; "From a story by Leonard Q. Ross and Leonard Spigelgass"; about some Damon Runyon-esque Broadway gangsters/gamblers, who accidentally stumble on a Nazi spy ring, and they become patriotic and break it up) starring Humphrey Bogart, Conrad Veidt, Kaaren Verne, Jane Darwell, Frank McHugh, Peter Lorre, Judith Anderson, Jackie Gleason, William Demarest, Phil Silvers, and Sam McDaniel. Note that some of the U.S. posters for this movie used images of Bogart from the 1941 film "High Sierra" (the same is true of some posters for "The Maltese Falcon"!). Note that in all three of these movies (All Through the Night, High Sierra, and The Maltese Falcon), Humphrey Bogart only got the lead part because George Raft turned down the lead in all three! Also, Conrad Veidt was only able to play the lead Nazi in this movie because Warner Bros. "borrowed" him from MGM, just as they did with Casablanca. Finally, note that Peter Lorre later married leading lady Kaaren Verne! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that we have never before auctioned this Italian locandina! Italian posters from the first few years after World War II are among the most rare posters there are! Apparently, there were still major paper shortages in Italy, and few posters were printed, and most were recycled. This is an extremely rare first release Italian poster from 1949. Also note that this poster was folded at one time but has been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube. Condition: good. The poster has darkening around the edges and along the folds. This rare poster can still be displayed and enjoyed as it is, but certainly, it would greatly benefit from being linenbacked.
