An Original Vintage Folded World War II Poster (measures 10" x 14" [25 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) Your "19" Buy War Bonds, the 1944 U.S. World War II (WWII) War Bonds poster ("Meet payroll savings") encouraging citizens (and especially American Railway Workers) to purchase war bonds, and featuring Duncan Coburn art of railway workers. Note that a Form 19 was a special order from the Dispatcher to the Engineer and Conductor of a train which either gives them the authority to operate or modifies the timetable schedule. The orders were transmitted from the Dispatcher to a Station Agent, and then passed to the crew of a moving train via a train order hoop. Artist: Duncan Coburn Important Added Info: Note that we have never before auctioned this war poster! Note that many people, including collectors of World War II posters, are not aware that a large percentage of them were made in a number of sizes. Sometimes there would be a very large size around 40" x 56", but it seems that this was reserved for very special posters. There were ones that measured around one-sheet size (sometimes 28" x 39" or so), and then there were ones that measured 20" x 28" or so. But even advanced collectors often don't know that there were also even smaller versions, one around window card size (14" x 20" or so), and one around 10" x 14"! These smaller sizes are far more rare than the larger ones (we imagine they were only sent to places that had very limited display spaces). We are currently auctioning 32 of the ones that measure around window card size and 22 of the ones that measure around 10" x 14". These were consigned by a very longtime collector who also consigned 23 of the larger sized ones, which we will be auctioning in our Thursday auctions. This is a wonderful opportunity to acquire some of these very rare smaller sized World War II posters! Finally, note that all but one of these smaller posters were printed on thin paper and many were once folded. This means that all but that one (which is on a heavy stock) can be sent rolled with rolled posters, and the formerly folded ones could be re-folded and sent with small flat items. This will be the choice of the new owner, and will depend on what other items they bought that these can be combined with. If you win one of these items, please note your preference on how you want them sent when you pay for them. Condition: good to very good. Learn More about condition grades
