Paths to Paradise, the 1925 Clarence G. Badger silent San Francisco California romantic crime comedy (based on the play by Paul Armstrong; "A rollicking comedy of two crooks who make you laugh all the way from San Francisco to Mexico -- and back again"; a very clever story about a con woman in San Francisco's Chinatown who tells tourists she can show them what the "underworld" looks like, and when she does that, she robs them; but then one of her customers turns out to be a detective who she bribes to let her go, but it turns out he is a con man himself who was posing as a detective!; later, they meet at a fancy party, where he is again posing as the detective and she is posing as a maid, and they both want to steal an expensive necklace, and they agree to join forces, and they get away with it, and then escape to Mexico, but she convinces him that they would do better being honest, and they return the necklace and start their new life together) starring Betty Compson, Raymond Griffith, Noah Beery Sr., Tom Santschi, and Bert Woodruff. Note that this movie was loosely remade in 1945 as "Hold That Blonde!" with Eddie Bracken and Veronica Lake. Note that this is a "lost" film, which means that no surviving complete copies are thought to exist.

Artist: William J. Hanneman
Important Added Info: Note that glass slides were designed to be put in a special projector that would project the image onto a movie screen (they use exactly the same concept as 35mm slides). We have taken a digital photo of each that shows the general condition of the overall slide and holder, and we have also made a digital scan that shows the glass image well, but does not show the holder (except as a dark outline).

Condition: good.
