An Original Vintage Theatrical Deluxe 10 1/2" x 13 3/4" [27 x 35 cm] Movie Still (Learn More) The Road to Mandalay, the 1926 Tod Browning silent Asia Singapore romantic love triangle criminal gang crime melodrama ("Story by Tod Browning and Herman J. Mankiewicz"; "Titles by Joe Farnham"; about a former sea captain whose wife died during childbirth; he gave the child to his brother, a priest, to raise her, and he is now a brothel owner and a crook, and his daughter does not know that; he has a partner who is much more respectable, and the daughter falls in love with the partner, and that causes a falling out between the two men!) starring Lon Chaney Sr. (as Singapore Joe, the disfigured leader of the gang), Lois Moran, Owen Moore, Henry B. Walthall, Sojin, Rose Langdon, John George, Willie Fung, and Eddie Sturgis. Note that this is a partially "lost" film which means that no surviving complete copies are thought to exist. Important Added Info: Note that this deluxe still (which has a great image of Lon Chaney testing the sharpness of the blade of his knife) is printed on double weight paper stock and it has an embossed photographer's stamp in the bottom right corner. It also has a snipe on the back that reads "Lon Chaney in Tod Browning's 'The Road to Mandalay' for Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer", and a stamp from the photographer. Also note that this still measures 10 1/2" x 13 3/4" [27 x 35 cm], but it has not been trimmed. Condition: very good to fine. The photo has some tiny red ink stains in the right (caused by coming in contact with a stamped still on top of it), and also a few faint smudges and creases around the edges.
