Ward"; winner of the Best Picture Academy Award; about a group of con men who swindle a criminal out of a huge amount of money) starring Paul Newman, Robert Redford (nominated for the Best Actor Academy Award for this film), Robert Shaw, Ray Walston, Charles Durning, Harold Gould, Sally Kirkland, and Robert Earl Jones NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this poster has completely different art from the commonly seen poster (the one with Richard Amsel artwork). Yet it has a ratings box, indicating it was intended for U.S. release. Since I have only heard of two other examples of this poster, I would think it likely that it was some sort of a special poster that may have been printed in very limited quantities, but then NOT distributed to theaters, and maybe these surviving examples were obtained from employees of the studio, or from people connected with the movie. In any event, it is certainly an extremely rare poster! Condition: good. The poster was lightly folded in half an extra time. There are pinholes, creases, and tears in the borders. There are extra creases by the top and bottom foldlines with many creases along most foldlines, and surface scuffing in the non-white areas of the foldlines. The poster has clear condition defects, but certainly, any talented restorer could linenback the poster, and with just the right amount of restoration, the poster will look fantastic, and there will truly be little paint restoration on it!
