An Original Vintage Theatrical Autographed 8" x 10" [20 x 25 cm] Movie Still (Learn More) Myrna Loy was an actress from the 1920s to the 1980s. She was born Myrna Adele Williams in 1905, and amazingly, she made 78 movies between 1925 and 1933, and she FINALLY got her big break when she signed with MGM, and the next year she made both "The Thin Man" and "Manhattan Melodrama", and the rest, as they say, was history! But what took Hollywood and film goers so long to recognize her amazing beauty and talent? In her early years of making movies, her "exotic" look led her to sometimes be cast as an Asian or Polynesian! She remained a major box office star for over two decades, and she had wonderful chemistry with ALL of her leading men, including William Powell, Cary Grant, Clark Gable, and many others! Some of her other movies include: The Best Years of Our Lives, Mr. Blandings Builds His Dream House, The Thin Man, Cheaper By the Dozen, and countless others. She passed away in 1993 at the age of 88. Important Added Info: Note that this still has been personally autographed (signed) by Myrna Loy! Our consignor obtained this autograph many years ago in a group of purchases, and they do not remember anymore about it than that, except that they felt it was authentic at that time, and so do we. Condition: fair to good. The still was attached to a thick mat with a long strip of double-stick tape on the back of the top and bottom of the still. It was partially removed from the mat, but after they removed the mat from the bottom of the still, they tried to remove the mat from the top , and it caused tears and paper loss in the background to the right of Baxter's head, and some creases and a tear in the upper left, so they quit removing it and simply trimmed that portion of the mat so that there is now a 2" x 10" piece of mat still attached to the back of the top of the still. The tape that is on the back of the bottom of the still is still sticky, so someone attached a sheet of plain white paper to the back of the bottom of the still (see our image). Both the paper and the remaining piece of mat could be removed, as well as the sticky tape from the top and bottom, but it would take either a professional or talented amateur. Please do not bid on this still unless you can accept its defects described above or are willing to pay to have the still properly restored. Learn More about condition grades
