Artist: Robert McGinnis Important Added Info: Note that this one-sheet was marked "EAST HEMI" which means it was printed for use in one half of the world (there were also posters stamped "WEST HEMI" for use in the other half of the world!). THIS WAS DUE TO THE TWO PRODUCERS (Saltzman and Broccoli) BEING UNABLE TO AGREE ON WHO SHOULD GET FIRST BILLING! They resolved this by having posters for half of the world having one of their names first, and on the other half of the world, they reversed it! Also, this poster does not feature the Transamerica logo under United Artists, but other posters do have this logo. No one (including every Bond expert we contacted) is 100% sure what this means. Some say it is surely a 1974 first release, and some say it was made at the time that the 1980 re-releases were made of the 1960s movies. However, a collector tells us that he bought a Live and Let Die poster which was missing the TA logo along with other first release Bond posters (including The Man with the Golden Gun) in 1977 at a James Bond convention, so that would seem to refute the 1980 re-release suggestion about posters missing the TA logo. We auction lots and lots of posters that never made it to a theater and sat in a poster exchange for many years (or were purchased by a dealer from an exchange right when the movie came out), and these LOOK "brand new", but that is just because they were never used, and stored well. So we assure you that this is a vintage poster. But given that, we can't say for 100% that it is from 1974. Condition: very good. The poster has minor fold and border wear and a few light creases that are not very noticeable or distracting. It is otherwise in pretty nice condition and it displays well!
