Date Sold 4/16/2023Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. Two Autographed Album Pages Matted and Framed with a REPRODUCTION Photo (entire display measures 11 1/4" x 14 1/4") (Learn More) Moe Howard (born Moses Harry Horwitz) was an American actor and comedian from the 1900s to the 1970s. He was best known as the leader of the Three Stooges, the farce comedy team who starred in motion pictures and television for four decades. Moe's distinctive hairstyle came about when he was a boy and cut off his curls with a pair of scissors, producing a ragged shape approximating a bowl cut. He starred in over 190 Three Stooges short films and full-length movies. He passed away in 1975 at the age of 77. AND Larry Fine (born Louis Feinberg) was an American actor, comedian and violinist from the 1920s to the 1970s. He was best known as one of the Three Stooges, the farce comedy team who starred in motion pictures and television for four decades. Fine was easily recognized in the Stooge features by his hairdo, bald on top with lots of hair around the sides and back. He starred in over 190 Three Stooges short films and full-length movies. He passed away in 1975 at the age of 72. Important Added Info: Note that auction is for a framed display that contains two album pages that were BOTH personally autographed (signed), one by Moe Howard, and one by Larry Fine! The one signed by Larry says "Larry (Fuzzy) Fine". Our consignor was told that in the early days of The Three Stooges, they were billed as "Moe (Bangs) Howard", "Larry (Fuzzy) Fine", and "Jerry (Curly) Howard", and that quickly Moe and Larry lost these nicknames, but Curly, of course, kept his. This would mean that this Larry autograph is extremely early, and that the Moe one, although obtained separately, is likely also very early. A collector obtained these in the early 1970s and had them framed around 1975. Our consignor purchased it from that collector years later, and no further information about the signatures is available, and our consignor has no certificate of authenticity. Our consignor looked at authentic signatures of these stars, and believes them to be authentic, but we urge bidders to do their own research BEFORE bidding on this. The album pages were nicely matted and framed together with a REPRODUCTION photo with an image from a Three Stooges comedy short, and the entire display is ready to hang on the new owner's wall! Condition: very good. Both cut album pages have darkened around the edges (see our image). Learn More about condition grades
