An Original Vintage Souvenir Program Book (measures 9" x 12" [23 x 30 cm]; 96 pages) (Learn More)

The Paramount Theatre was a noted 3,664 seat movie palace located at 43rd Street and Broadway in the Times Square district of New York City from 1926 to 1966. It opened with the gala showing of God Gave Me 20 Cents with Mayor Walker and Thomas Edison as guests. The theater housed one of the largest and most admired theater organs ever built by the Wurlitzer company. Designed for the famous organist Jesse Crawford, the organ was used for solos and to accompany silent films. Later, the Paramount began hosting live music along with feature films, and hosted performers such as: Benny Goodman, Jack Benny, Tommy Dorsey, Glenn Miller, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, and many more! The theater was closed in 1964 and its space converted to office and retail use.
If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
Important Added Info: Note that this program was published to commemorate the opening of this amazing theater (a massive skyscraper), and it has lots of information about the theater with great illustrations, but it also has really cool ads from companies saluting Paramount. Also note that we have pictured the front cover and one or more interior 2-page spreads from this program. You can use these images to determine the exact condition of it from our super-sized image, but realize that there are some other pages you are not seeing.

Condition: good to very good. The covers are discolored, but the interior pages are in pretty nice condition.
