A 1944 Re-Release Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Card (LC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More)

The Walking Dead, the 1936 Michael Curtiz horror fantasy murderer revenge melodrama ("He died a man with a hunger to love and returned a monster with an instinct to kill!"; "Karloff is coming from beyond the grave!"; about a man who is framed for a murder he didn't commit and is then executed, which would normally be "the end of the story", but in this case, a scientist invents a way to bring him back from the dead, and naturally, he wants to find those who framed him and get revenge!) starring Boris Karloff, Ricardo Cortez, Edmund Gwenn, Marguerite Churchill, Warren Hull, Addison Richards, Barton MacLane, Robert Strange, Paul Harvey, and Henry O'Neill
NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography.
Important Added Info: Note that these cards are undated, but they are from the first re-release of the movie in 1944. At that time, Warner Bros. and MGM were both suffering from the loss of their major stars to military service (partly because of their great patriotism, and partly because they were in the 90% tax bracket!). Both studios re-released a great number of their best 1930s films in 1942 to 1944, but we know these cards to be from exactly 1944, because we have auctioned lobby cards that have an NSS number handwritten on the front and back that is 44-267.

Condition: fair to good. There are three tiny circular holes in the upper right of the image, including one in Karloff's upper lip. There are two faint diagonal scuffs running through the woman's face. There are faint stains, pinholes, and smudges around the edges, with tiny paper loss in the bottom left blank corner. Note that this lobby card is completely unrestored and there is not a single piece of tape on either the front or back!
